Description
Azerbaijan rugs are generally done over the cold winter months. Rug weaving is a typical winter tradition in almost all tribal families in this region. The weavers favor richer, warmer colors like red, blue, cream, green, and yellow to add brightness and warmth to their homes during the long cold winters. When the rugs are ready, the weavers take the rugs to the bazaars in Tabriz to sell the finished rugs.
Hand-knotted using 100% vegetable-dyed handspun wool yarns, this 90-100-year-old Azerbaijan rug features a geometric allover design with beautiful beige, orange, blue, and yellow shades. Each knot of this rug was skillfully at approximately 196 KPSI and was completed in approx. 237 days.
Woven with design consistency and durability, this 4′ x 14′ low pile rug is a great functional piece for the kitchen, bedroom, and hallways.
