Description
Some of the finest Persian rugs come from the city of Mashad which became one of the most prominent weaving centers in the industry. It is also home to one of the most important religious shrines in the country. This has had a lot of influence on the patterns and designs seen in the rugs woven in this city.
Hand-knotted using 100% vegetable-dyed handspun wool yarns, this 120-130-year-old Mashad rug combines the classic boteh design with beautiful shades of red, blue, brown, green, and beige. Each knot of this rug was skillfully tied with a knot density of approximately 441 KPSI and was completed in approximately 207 days.
Woven with design consistency and durability, this 5′ x 9′ medium pile rug is a great design piece perfect for the dining room, bedroom, or as a focal point in the living room.
